Nothing tastes better to me than a smoothie! I love smoothies because I am actually a reformed milkshake drinker. I drank 4 scoop double chocolate ice cream milkshakes everyday when I was pregnant with my first child, Joseph. Since then, my waistline and my health have demanded that I change my ways.
Last year, I bought myself a Vitamix for my birthday, after burning out the motors of 3 different brands of blenders. I have experimented constantly to find smoothie recipes and have finally found the few that make me happy every time I make them.
Recipe:
4 oz. 100% pineapple juice
1 peeled orange
10 green grapes
2 Tbsp. Chia seed gel
2 Tbsp. wheat germ
2 fresh dates
½ cup frozen mango
1 cup ice cubes
Throw it in the Vitamix, blend it up.
Drink it all if you are that hungry or divide it with a friend! Joseph came home from school and we shared it while watching the newest Revolution, his current favorite show.
If you are going to be a regular smoothie drinker like me, I suggest you invest in plastic straws and a straw cleaner. I got mine on Amazon.
