Day 14 – Menu and Diet Journal

Diet Journal Week 2: Summer and friends has hit my diet as you may be able to tell from my daily entries. I have been having a cocktail or a frozen treat daily, which seems to have stopped my weight loss this week. But, I have stayed exactly the same weight all week, which is a pleasant surprise.

Tips for surviving this past week of having company include only having one cocktail every other evening and going for the smallest size of any treats – like frozen yogurt or frozen lemonade. I believe the sugar content in these items is what has made me not lose any more weight this week. It was worth it to have some fun with friends and as they leave tomorrow, I know I will be back to a stricter adherence to the 17 Day Diet guidelines soon.

I have been drinking an abundance of water too, which is easy on these long, warm summer days. I have added fresh cucumbers, mint, lemon, lime, orange or strawberries to give my water some pizzazz. I have also drank some flavored sparkling waters that are only carbonated water with natural flavors added, no artificial sugars or chemicals.

As it is a cool day, I am wearing my old pair of jeans, that I used to call my “fat” jeans but are right now, exactly my size. I am hopeful that in two more weeks they will be back to my old favorite comfy pair. Probably everyone has a pair of jeans that are their most comfortable, perfect for slouching around in. It can be seriously depressing to watch yourself slowly gain too much weight to wear them. It is an achievement to fit back into them and I can’t wait until I need a belt again!

I am feeling healthy, positive and am encouraged by my “food reboot!” If you have joined me, I hope you are too!

Breakfast: 2 Egg scramble with zucchini, tomato, peppers, jalapeno, scallions and a sprinkle of parmesan, coffee with soy creamer.

Snack: 1 serving of Snapea Crisps. While the rest of our group chowed down on Kettle chips, I opted for these snacks, or really treats! I find them addictive and I know they aren’t that much better for me but I can have a lot more for less calories and fat.

Lunch: Turkey BLT salad, no dressing, with iced tea.

Snack: Only 8 peanut butter chip yogurt – heaven!!

Dinner: Breaded BBQ chicken and salad. I ordered grilled chicken and received breaded instead. Since it was delivery, I was stuck and decided to just enjoy a treat!

Dessert: 1 glass of sangria
